SATA HDD as MASTER

I’m having a Maxtor 300G SATA 150 HDD installed on my system. The MB has the port for the SATA HDD installation. I also have my old IDE ATA 40g drive install as a slave on the primary IDE port. I want my system to BOOT on the 300G SATA HDD and I configured the BIOS accordingly.

For some reason each time I boot the system it boot with the IDE HDD and the SATA come second. When I disconnect the ATA HDD then the system boot on the SATA drive.

Does somebody know what is the problem ?

Thanks

Complete system specs please...need to know what motherboard you're using.

Exactly what did you change in the BIOS? Did you Save the new settings when you exited the BIOS?
