Data Drive has become inaccessable

I have a 20 GB Hard Disk, divided into 4 partitions of 5 GB each, named as F, G, H, I. This hard disk is used to store Data. My C: drive is in other hard disk, having two partitions C: and D: and E: drive is CD ROM. Sometime ago, the free space in C: drive started being filled up automatically. McAfee and Norton Anti Viruses couldn't detect any virus. Ultimately, only 150 MB space was left.

My hardware guy said, he would copy the Data from my Data Hard Disk to other hard disk and re-partition both the Hard Disks and the copy back the Data. I requested him to not to touch the Data, since my Data was very crucial. He said not to worry and went ahead. In front of me, he copied the Data from I: drive to his hard disk. Then he re-partitioned, the hard-disk containing the Operating System, installed fresh Operating System and copied the Data that was originally stored on I: Drive to the new partition D:. After this successful process, I had to leave for some work. After 3 hours when I returned, he had copied whole of the data from F: drive and half of the data from G: drive to his hard disk. Then in almost abusive language, he said rest of the Data on G: drive was inaccessible, because I didn't know how to name the directories and files properly. I am very meticulous about my Data segregation and name them descriptively, with the directory or file names being around 10-15 characters long. Sometimes, in order of preference of the data, I precede the name with an underscore "_". More important the data, more underscores would precede the directory name. I place an underscore normally, by pressing Shift + underscore. He said, I have added underscores thru Alt + combinations. I informed him, I don't even know the combination of Alt + underscore, but he didn't listen and started bad mouthing me. To cut things short, he said, my directories had become in-accessible because I had used Alt + combinations, besides they can't be re-named even. He said, he had checked the hard disk thru DiskMan, which was showing only 8 GB Hard Disk space.

To check things, when I accessed drives F: and G: they were accessable. I renamed one of the Directories in front of him and even changed the label of G: drive. I checked rest of the Data by opening some HTML files. They opened finely. I couldn't understand what he was talking, therefore, I copied back all the Data from his hard-disk to F: and G: drives, packed the system and returned.

After returning, when I started my system, the partitions F: and G: were showing their labels as "Local Disk", file system as RAW, used space as 0 Bystes, free space as 0 Bytes and upon being clicked, I get the message that "The Drive isn't formatted, would I like to format it now". From the DOS mode, I get a message "Disk inaccessable" or something like that.

That fellow had told me that he had copied the data from G: drive to his hard disk using DOS mode, because the Virus residing in my Data, wouldn't get transferred along with the Data to his hard disk and I should have named my files only 8 characters long. But in front of me, he never used DOS mode to copy the data to his hard-disk. He had copied the directories using Windows Explorer. I believe he is lying.

I would like to receive your opinion and advise about the following :

1. What action he might have done.

2. I am not being able to comprehend, that before leaving his premises, I had checked my Data and it was working fine. After re-starting the computer at my premises, how could it become in-accessible.

3. How could rest of my Data, which also contained Directory names 10-15 characters long, get copied, when the rest of the Data didn't, according to him. At that time, I didn't try to copy the Dirctories or files myself to his hard-disk, since I was confused.

4. He had said, he had used DiskMan, to check the space. Could it have been possible, that he might have started partitioning/formatting process by mistake, on F: and G: drives. But please note here, the Data residing on H: drive is working fine and the partitions H: and I: are fully accessible, even now.

5. Upon starting the system, when we get the first screen, the volume label shows junk characters as label of this hard disk, but in the very next screen showing System Specifications, the label SV2042H is shown. In System Hardware also, I am shown "Samsung SV2042H". Why doesn't first screen shows proper label, whereas it shows proper label for the other hard disk.

5. How can I recover back my Data.

6. Please note, on the previous night of all this episode, I had copied around 500 MB of Data from G: drive to a CD and deleted that data from G: drive. Data from that CD is working fine and is fully readable. Now 4.3 GB of data around that 500 MB of Backed-up data is not accessable.

I would be grateful for your help.
