HSF for AMD 1800+

I have a friend looking to quiet his room down from the jet engine noise he's getting from his hsf. I'm not at all familiar with AMD stuff. What would be a good, silent hsf for an old amd 1800+ chip?

Masscool FalconRock is a good, quiet Socket A HSF.

There are many available now, with a new market for HTPC's growing up (you can visit several forums dedicated to that subject, if desired). The one Cricket named has the advantage of being bragain- priced. You may find the same device also being sold under the Speeze and Spires brand names.

Most of the popularly distributed HSF brands include one or more models that are advertised as being quiet. Not all are as low- priced as are the various " ___- Rock " items. The SI-97 was intended for extreme cooling, and is hard to find now.
