hard drives

I have a asus p4p800 dlux MB, it has 4 optical drives on the motherboard ide ports, and a promise controller card with 4 hard drives running on it, the MB also has 2 serial ports for hard drives,
can I place two serial drives to these two ports and everything still work ?
I know my PS can Handel it ok, but can the system ?

As long as you don't run it out of drive letters, it will work fine.
