ACPI and Non-ACPI BIOS

What is the difference between ACPI and Non- ACPI BIOS?

What does ACPI stands for?

ACPI, i believe uer thinking of ACPI cpu's. The ones that make that extra 7 virtual IRQ's

The 8 (not 7) extra IRQ's are APIC (Advanced programmable interrupt controller), not ACPI, and that's a motherboard thing, not a CPU thing.
