cases, cases, cases...

I was gonna go with a RAIDMAX X1 but i figured i'd ask. Anyone wanna give me a good case for under 80$? Antec cases are nice but expensive, I need an ATX case that can fit somewhat alot. I don't LAN party often so weight is not an issue. Thanks.

If you go to Newegg and do a search with price range $50 to $85/midtower/no PSU, you will find a good range of cases from the better name brands. The Raidmax is around $49.

Look at the Chenming cases. Some of them are very similar to some of the Antec cases and many come without a power supply so you can choose just the one you want to use.

if you go to www.pricewatch.com you can browse 1000's of cases...some with free shipping....

I prefer the Raidmax Astro series my self for builds...it's a nice case but....I don't get them from Newegg...they want too much to ship them...you can find cases elsewhere for better shipping charges...
Newegg want almost $16.00 per case shipping charge compared to last year they had a 5.99 charge....I haven't been real happy with the egg since they changed shippers....

My apartment-mate has a Raidmax case. Rivets keep popping out and it's extremely flimsy. Avoid Raidmax's cheap cases as if they're infectious zombies.

CompUSA also has periodic sales on Antec cases. Before you decide on a case, scour the web for professional reviews by either magazines or pseudo-professional sites.

I think it depends which line of Raidmax you get...just like any other they have cheaper lines....you get what you pay for....

I have used the Astro series exclusively and have not had one problem with them....The steel series Astro's are heavy guage and well built...The aluminum series is very nice too...I have built alot of pc's with this case series and not one defect to date....

I agree with you, MaxRat (you get what you pay for), but when a brand is notorious for ticking bomb powersupplies and sells cheap cases of abysmal quality, one wonders about the general quality of the company's products.

Yeah, I've not heard good reviews on RAIDMAX's Stock power supplies. I think i'll go with a cheap antec, but i couldn't find one I liked below 80$. EDIT: Those chenming ones look nice. I may go with them as well. thanks guys. Any glowing reviews of cheap cases would be appriciated.

, that's all I've got to say! In other words, if that fits your budget... go for it. If you're in that price range, check out Antec's P160 or P180. But, the Xaser looks like a mighty great choice!
