hey guys i want overcloc my system.....i have a asus a8n-sli deluxe, amd 64 4000(2.4), ocz 2x 512 gold Ram pc 3200 ddr 400, and the program that mange the ocing is ai booster from asus, is anybody familiar with this program or components.....i was trying to do it, what i did was change the external frequency of the cpu fron 200 mhz to 220 after that the screen freezes....what am i doing wrong, and please dont ask me why i want to overclock.....thanks in advance..

Return the CPU's FSB back to stock. Sounds like the motherboard chipset can't go at the faster speed. What brand and wattage PSU are you using in your setup? It can also be that the PSU can't give enough power to sustain the overclock.

You may have to use the clear cmos jumper on the motherboard to get the settings back to default so you can boot the PC up again..

you need to set the HT multiplier to 4 or even 3 (default is 5)
the reason it froze is the HT went out of sink...it's rated at 2000 and it runs that stock ( 5 x's 200 = 1000 x' s 2 (double pumped)= 2000) so at 220 it was 5 x's 220 = 1100 x's 2 = 2200 It may not like that very much...also put the ram on a divider.... put the HT multi on 4...that will be good for 250 fsb... try the ram on a 5:4 divider or 266
