you cannot overclock a intel motherboard.
they have the highest rating when used with the intel on a intel
that is a intel motherboard with a intel cpu will be the most stable and reliable combination one can come up with.
and the only problem with the intel motherboards is the fact that they are not overclock able at all

Damnit.. i was really hoping to get up to at least 3.4 or 3.6 one of my Hardware hacker friends told me that i could flash my bio's and do it that way, but there is a big risk with that so i was hoping to try that as a last resort. if there is anything i can try to do besides getting a new motherboard and processor please tell me

not with a intel motherboard, if you want to over clock that bad, then you will need to try a differant board that has a good reptutation for overclocking.

just one more thing I will point out is that with that high of a cpu does not mean that it is a good one for overclocking. you really need to do some research to find out what would be your best combination for what your wanting to do.
I doubt that you will find any performance with what you have now and what you will gain by any amount of overclockablity you might be able to achive,
your about as fast as one can get and still have a solid , reliable system.
