P4 Northwood temps

My dad has a P4 2.0A Ghz system.
yeterday the thing started freezing up.

i noticed the CPU temp was 90 degrees celcius ....thats bad right?
the temps are supposed to be in the 40-50 range....

all fans are spinning.have no idea at what speed though. The Heatsink/CPU Fan seems dusty...but could that be making the temp spike to twice its normal?

dont think any thermal paste was applied when the system was built.but it has never gone this high before.

if it looks like it has a lot of dust around it, you can bet that the heatsink fins are probly plugged, and that would raise to temps up.

cleaned a heck of a lot of dust that was in the heatsink fins...my god.
straighted out some wires to facilitate better airflow too. temps seem to have dropped back to 35 degrees celcius(the lowest i have seen)

will "strest test" it with some virus scanning.
