Exclamation DVD-RW quit reading movies

This problem has been under my skin for the past week. I installed a DVD burner, and it worked fine for about three movies. After i popped in a fourth movie to watch (in the span of about a week), it quit reading movie DVD's.
Here's the part that really throws me: i can burn DVDs and read homemade DVD's. the cd reading works fine also. Does anyone have any idea why my drive will not play movies anymore?

is it all movies, except burned ones, or just the one your trying? it could have to do with the sony encryption... what else have you done since the last time it worked and the time it didnt?

What dvd video software are you using to watch the dvd's

Media player... try updating it....if it's some thing else try un-installing it and re-installing it....I either use PowerDvd or Windows Media player 10

Nero Showtime works well too...

I do not recall doing anything noteworthy between the third and fourth movie.
It will not read any movie whatsoever. I have tried DVD's from my collection, as well as burned movies. It will not play a movie of any kind. This drive will record DVD's for backup purposes or storage. I was using intervideo player. I have even tried upgrading the firmware on the drive. I was using windows 2000 when I installed the drive, but have since upgraded to XP. This has me stumped.
