Dell Inspiron 8600 upgrade

I just came across this item on ebay, here is a link to the specs of what is being sold http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SL/SL6CJ.html.

What I am wondering is if this P-m will work in a Dell Inspiron 8600. The laptop has a Pentium M 1.4 in it already, but I am looking for a performance upgrade. from the system properties page, here is what it says:

Intel Pentium M processor 1400MHz
599MHz, 1.00 GB RAM

hope this helps

I'm not so sure about that. When ordering My wifes Ispiron we had a choice of the pentium M or P4. Best thing to do is go to Dells web site and check the config of that system....

A P4-M is a modified desktop processor. A P-M is a Centrino, much better even though clock speed may be slower.
