DUAL CORE for gaming????????

When gaming starts taking up dual core cpus, does that mean they wont work on single core cpus anymore. And some games today do have an option for dual core but i dont understand how a game uses dual core. Is it doing two things at once?

No, games would still work on single cores (maybe not years from now, but by then the norm would be multi-core CPUs).

Essentially, yes. It's running calculations and things on both cores simultaneously, while a single core could only do one thing at a time.
