Help, bent fins on radiator...will it be a problem?
I just installed a thermaltake bigwater kit on my pc. I mounted the radiator on the outside so i had to reverse the fan. Well i dont know if i did something or the fan was defective but as soon as i booted up i got a really loud clicking noise, before i could even turn the pc off a piece of the fan went flying across my living room. Well the fan obviously hit the radiator and some of the fins are bent and distorted. None broke or anything. My question is i really dont want to pull this whole kit out and return it so can i buy another 120mm fan or will these bent fins effect my cooling?
Here is a pic of the radiator in 1024 res: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1-16-06007.jpg Again, I dont care if it looks pretty since a fan is going to be over it, i just dont want it to effect my cooling. Thanks guys |

Any bent or missing blades on a rotating device (fan blade) will cause an imbalance that will destroy bearings or cause further physical damage. Buy a new fan.
