If your motherboard has at least 1 free PCI slot (not counting the one right next to the AGP slot) then you should be fine.
What kind of computer is this? Home built or name brand? What are the complete system specs? Cricket

How many drives are installed in the computer now? You can have 4 IDE drives installed (2 per controller) so if you only have 2 or 3 drives now you can add another hard drive without having to buy a PCI IDE controller card.

You should add some more RAM too. 128Mb isn't really enough for running XP.

You can have a total of 4 IDE devices in that computer on the motherboard controllers - 2 per cable. However, there's a 32gb size limit in the bios, if you want a bigger drive, you WILL need a card.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16816102002 Put ALL hard drives on the card, disable the primary onboard IDE controller, and put the optical drives on the secondary onboard. You need more ram. http://www.crucial.com/store/listpar...ries&submit=Go |
