PC is freezing...
It runs fine when browsing the internet and such, but now it will freeze when running games, and it will also freeze when I was looking at large pictures eariler.
Here are some screenshots of what it was doing while I was playing the orginal Half-Life, also a screen shot of my Overclocking. I did not set the overclocking, I had the computer dectect optimal performance. I did set it to Commander in the D.O.T. though, along with my Processer is set to Commander (D.O.T.) other than that it is not overclocked at all. Temps are low too (30-40). PC Stats in Sig. This never done it before, any help? All fans are working and everything is clean of dust. http://i1.tinypic.com/msy7vs.jpg http://i1.tinypic.com/msy80h.jpg

It is probably because of the overclocking. Turn it down to a lower setting.

barch, inline images are for SMALL graphics, please don't use them for screen shots. I converted them to links. Thank you.

Im sorry, thanks for fixing them.
So why would my stuff freeze because of the overclocking, if I set it to the recommended overclocking settings? Should I slowly start to turn it up, and if so how much of a difference should my Core Clock be from my Memory Clock settings? Thanks, Mike. |

When you overclock you are running things faster than they are designed to run...and too much and it just can't run properly. Take it a bit slower when overclocking...go a little bit, then check stability...go a little more, until you start getting wierd artifacts or instability. I would never trust what is "recommended" for overclocking. Every card is going to be a different (just the nature of how they are made...same thing goes for the CPU) and the "recommended" may be too much on one card while its fine on another. There isn't a good way to determine what is the max overclock besides actually going a little at a time and see for yourself - that is why I would never trust the "recommended" unless it actually tests the settings first.
The core and memory speeds don't have to be in sync, so you should test each one individually... (find the max core, then find the max memory)
