Problems with Bluetooth headset

Hey guys, need a little advice here with a problem thats bugging me.

I've bought a USB Bluetooth dongle and a Logitech bluetooth headset.
Followed the instructions word-for-word, installed the BlueSoleil software supplied with the dongle, got the dongle working and managed to pair the headset to it, the problem i've got now is that i cant seem to get the headset to actually work with the PC, well it does but very intermittent.

To get it working I have to keep uninstallting the BlueSoleil software, removing the dongle, rebooting and reinstalling and pairing from scratch to get it to work, after the PC is shudown and restarted when i switch the headset on it gets communication with the dongle ok but no sound

Any ideas what i can try, all i want really is the microphone feature of the headset to work without the earpiece so my sound still comes from my speakers as this is intended for use on the car PC but im trialling voice recognition on my desktop first.

Many Thanks

OK, I've resolved it myself, as is normally the case with me I was being a bit silly, didnt think to be honest, when the headset is switched on it doesnt actually activate until you press the power button on it briefly (after switching it on that is).

Got one other problem though that someone may be able to resolve.

I want to use just the mic feature of the headset rather than listening through it as it's being used on my car PC. How can i prevent it from hijacking the audio to the headset? I did have a fumble around in control panel and tried setting the Playback device to my sound card and the recording device to the headset and checking the "Only use default devices" box but this didnt really cure it, works fine for everything else except my application which uses the Windows Media Player component or will i have to alter that in my application?
