Exclamation AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Temp?

The CPU is running idle at 132 F.. Is this normal?

That's 55 degrees Celsius, which is a bit towards the high side. What kind of heatsink and fan are you using? What other fans do you have in your case? What is your setup?

Also, when was the last time you cleaned out the case? or checked out the case fans for operation?

I agree, that's a bit on the warm side. I have the same cpu in a Home Theater pc case. Kinda small but good air flow. It's running the cpu at 100% load with Folding@Home and the cpu temp is a solid 42 degrees C.

Case is open. One other 80 case fan Heatsink is clean appears to be stock AVC I think it's wore off a bit

I have an AMD 2600+ which ran stock speed at around 125 F on my old motherboard. I have since moved to a different motherboard, reapplied thermal grease and now it runs around 100 F stock speed.

Both setups have been very stable for me, so as long as you aren't experiencing lockups then I wouldn't worry about it.

Are you using Kingston memory by chance? Like a 2 x 512Mb kit of Value Ram on an Asus A7n8x-e Deluxe?

What is your temperature in a closed case with the case fans working full speed?
