Toshiba Qosmio Review

RRP - approx £1500

Its HUGE, i mean massive. When you open the box, you realize the enourmous scale of the screen. And its a decent size scree. The Model I am reveiwing is the G20/G25 (they are exactly the same). It comes with a gig of ram, and this config came with a 1.83 Pentium M processor. Nvidia 6600 GT 128 Go graphics included, but I think its upgradeable. Also comes with an in built TV tuner and 2 x 80gb hd's. But the peice de resistance are the two wonderfull speakers located right next to the keyboard. Also it looks beautiful, especially with the black shiny interior.

The MCE 2005 software is good, because it actually utilises all of the Qosmio's functionality in an easy to use way. However, there is still that rubbish that you get with computors like this, and it takes a while to get rid of it.

TV capability is exellent, but the real joy is in using the screen, really high quality, like a plasma. Gaming is good, for a desktop replacement comp, but if you wanted something with a bit more punch, then i would suggest going for a computor with either 7800 or 6800 graphics, although the 6600 is more then adequite for medium gaming.

Unfortuantely, with all these nice functionalities, it comes at a price, the battery life is about an hour on average, and about 45 mins on full load (ie hl2).

I would give this an 8.5/10 becasue it is good as a desktop replacement, but mostly as a space saver, not as a laptop. And it is heavy.
