Not just another SATA question....

Here's a different one. I'm doing some UV modding and I'm buying a few UV reactive cables. One of them is an SATA cable for my WD 250GB SATA 3.0 drive and all the cables I'm finding are SATA 1.5 compatible. Will that degrade performance? Are there 3.0 cables? Are the cables that came with my ASUS mobo 3.0? I'm guessing not LOL

So I found this cable > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812162003
Not UV reactive but it does support SATA II. Is this a gimmik or really worth it?

Why not? Asus supplies good quality cables with their mobos. Why would they supply something that doesn't work?

Even if 150. cables would downgrade the 300.... Truthfully speaking, hard drives never get transfer rates over 150.

TwoRails, I agree with your statement. ASUS is a quality outfit.

FireByyrd, downgrade from 300 to 150 ?? Transfer rates should be higher than 150 with SATA 2 enabled mobo's right? Please clarify.

Almost no Serial ATA hard drive is capable of using the entire bandwidth of SATA-300 even if it's there.
