blank screen

I have an intel D865PERL socket 478 motherboard, and today i went into the bios to overclock the system performance buy 4%(the burn in feature) and after that i lowered one of my RAM timings from 2.5 to 2 and then restarted. well when it booted up all i got was a blank screen and i sat there for 10 mins and still a blank screen, the computer was running and everything sounded normal. what is the problem? do i need to flash the bios? thanks a lot

HI

Look i am not sure about this but if you need a fast answer try this.
Clear the cmos using the jumpers on your mobo (check mobo manual) or take the battery out of the mobo for about 20-30 min, that should reset your Bios to default settings.

Good luck

J

Intel boards are not overclock friendly.
J1978 has it right about getting back to the default settings.

If you have the computer manual it has the precise sequence of steps you use to reset the cmos for your board, follow them to the letter.
If you don't have/can't find the manual then download and read it.

Intel boards use a jumper that can be set to force it into setup on power up.

Move the J7H2 jumper from 1-2 to 2-3.

DD5, you can't overclock an Intel motherboard enough to make any difference whatsoever. It's best to leave them alone and let them take care of themselves with auto settings.
