serial mouse not recognised
i have just put 2gether an old pc from some parts that i had it is a pc chips m571 mobo with onboard sound and agp and a cyrix m2 300 processor the problem is that i have used a 6 gig h/d from 1 of my other machines with windows already installed but it will not detect the mouse in ant of the ports at all it just says there is no mouse connected any ideas please help

I don't think that you can do that, I think you need to format the hard drive and reinstall windows in that system so that all the hardware will be setup correctly, from what I hear on this form, the pc chips is proble the worst board to try what you are doing and be able to get away with it. basic a clean install is always the best way to go about it if you can.

Go into the bios and make sure the serial ports are enabled. They may be disabled. Then boot to safe mode, go into device manager and remove all devices. Remove everything. Reboot and Windows will start to re-detect everything.
Or if you want to get a bit more advanced, you can use regedit to delete the enum key. This procedure is explained in "tips and tricks". Your PCChips is not a great board but we should be able to get it to work.
