Using a Cloned HDD in another computer

Hi

Is there any reason I can't clone my HDD using a program like Acronis True Image and then use the HDD in another computer?

Cheers

It depends on the operating system - you are going to have problems with the differing hardware. That's the primary issue, licensing and activation are another issue. Give us an idea what the specs are on the 2 computers, and what exact OS it is.

You will have to boot it with the XP CD and do a repair reinstall.

You will also need a second license for XP or you will have to remove it from the first computer. It will require activation, due to major hardware changes.
