CD ROM not reading song titles ... is age a factor?
Hello all!
I recently passed down my old PC to my daughters BF and he is having a problem importing song titles when he rips a CD to itunes. Instead of displaying the song title it simple is imported as "Track 1" ... The PC is rather old - its a PIII 667 rig, with 384 megs of RAM, the make and model of the cd rom is unknown. Would there be a reason that an older cd rom couldn't read that info from the audio CD? I was hoping this would be the case, as replacing it would be a cost-effective repair. Thanks guys! Jeff |

It wouldn't have anything to do with the CD-ROM. Some CD's simply don't have that information on the disc. Burned CD's do not have it at all. I'm not sure whether or not some burning software does this or not.

Usually iTunes gets the track information from the internet; it never gets it from the CD. If the computer isn't connected to the internet while he's ripping the CDs, then he won't get the track info.
