usb controllers and hubs
my p4p800 motherboard has 4 usb host controllers, and 5 usb hub controllers listed in the device manager which gives me 8 usb ports.
the usb ports are all 2.0 I have a self powered usb 1.1 8 port hub connected to one of the ports of the motherboard, many of my usb devices are still usb 1.1, and connected to the self powered hub, and as I understand it, the motherboard port reverts to a 1.1 port. now my question is if I buy a self powered 2.0 usb hub, and I connect it to another port on the motherboard, will I then have one hub working at 2.0 and another hub working at 1.1 ? |

I would think so as long as you use a port that's not on the same pair.

that would be great, so I guess I will buy a new 2.0 self powered hub and give it a try.
thanks for the reassurance on this. |
