Which Ram
This is a website to the suggested ram for my motherboard
http://us.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_prod...RODUCT_ID=3491 I'd like 1 GB of ram at least. Which ram do you think will give me the best performce to price ratio leaning more towards performce. I went to the crucial website and found this http://www.crucial.com/ballistix/sto...16&submit.y=12 To you think this is good ram? If so, which one should I get? Actually, good old Corsair Value Ram is plenty good enough. The AMD memory architecture doesn't really care whether the ram is low latency or not.

There is no NEED to overclock the ram with the Athlon 64 architecture. You need to review the overclocking procedures for Athlon 64's. It runs just as good on a divider as it does trying to squeeze it for all you can get.

Gottcha. So in other words, because I'm using a Athlon 64, I don't need to worry about overclocking the ram or its divider values. So in that case, I should get the best ram for my price and not worry about the latency. So now that I understand you correctly, which ram do you think I should get?
Another question is, why do people overclock ram on a AMD 64 if it does no good? |

Sorry about being an endless supply of questions, but do you think it is worth jumping from 1 GB to 2 GB, or do you think 1 GB will sufice? The computer will be used for gaming, but not really intense gaming.
This is the website for the suggested corsair Ram. Which one do you like? http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair...h_results.html They have one that has a $40 mail in rebate and is 2 GB. Making the price $176. A little steep, but do you think it is worth it. Thanks so much for your help GLC |

If you're not doing intensive gaming or video work, 1 Gb of ram will be fine. If you intend to play some intense games (FEAR, BF2, COD2), then yes, you will benefit from 2 gigs.
