+5v problems

I recently upgraded to the Abit Il8 mobo, everything worked fine, then when I opened Abiteq my +5v was at 5.33 and was shutting down. I disabled the shutdown long enough to post this. Is this ok? Is it voltage spikes? Is some of my hardware being a voltage hog!?

Also, when I was installing xp, and reformating from the cd, my 250g hardrive said it only had 135? Any clue on what is happening with that?

Here are my new specs:
Abit IL& mobo
XFX 6800 gs xxx
p4 3.06 ghz
WD Caviar sata II 250g
Logysis 480w psu

Please Help!

first of all, the 5 volts come from the power supply and not the motherboard, changing the motherboard should not have any affect on the 5 volt of the power supply.
and yes that is ok, and a lot depends on what your using to read that voltage, some power monitors are not real accurate, the best way to check the voltages is with a good quality digital voltmeter, and measure at the power connector at the motherboard.

Logisys, eh? I'd recommend replacing that PSU with a quality unit anyway. This list should give you a general idea of what's good and what's bad.

As for XP only recognizing 135 GB, you need a CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 to be able to partition/format the entire drive during Windows installation.

Logisys power supplies are okay, not the best, but as a general rule, reliable.
If it's running okay, you may be okay.
The 5v reading is within tolerance range.
You can always partition the drive,in that way XP can recognize the whole drive(s)

Were any of the other PSU's quality brands?
Your household current "could" be unstable it's but not all that likely.

I'll be honest with you... no. lol, well the first one was an Apower psu, then a biostar, now this logysis, and this psu has overpower protection, but nowhere can I find its limitations! Everything appears to be running fine though right now. I just dont want my psu to go down and take a $1000 system down with it... I would have to kill somebody then :P

Frankly you have bad tastes in PSU's :P. Pick you up a quality PSU from a company on that list. I had a generic 350watt PSU and I switched to a Seasonic S12 430 watt PSU. I'm doing things I could never do before. Video converting for 26 hours straight at 100%. Serving and playing UT2004 at the same time for 8 hours straight. Its wonderful. Before it would always crash for stupid reasons. Now it has not crashed once in the 2 months I've had it.
