Looking for equivalent AMD processor.
Hi,
Im new to the whole PC building thing, im about to put together my first computer, and i was originally planning to use a P4, 3ghz. However, ive read some stuff that suggests i should maybe go for an AMD processor instead. Im not looking for any comparisons, basically id like to know what the equivalent AMD CPU for a P3 3ghz would be. The Pentium i was going to buy costs around £115, so id want to get an AMD for the same price, as i cant really go any higher with the cost. Thanks in advance. |

An Athlon 64 3000+ would be roughly equivalent to a 3 GHz Intel.

You could always go for an opteron 146 which is £120 delivered off this website http://www.rlsupplies.co.uk/products....asp?id=158460 . That is great for overclocking if you want to do that and at 2Ghz
