Scanner Problem: How To Clean and Lube
Hello and thanks in advance,
I have a SnapScan e25 scanner: made by Agfa, and the company no longer makes or supports scanners. My scanner is making a grinding noise as it scans: it sounds bad. I'm wondering if it needs cleaning and lubrication. How should I do that? Also, in the extra-dumb questions department: I'm looking at my scanner and can't see how it would come apart for cleaning / lubricating. Thanks again ... RB |

Honestly, you would be better off replacing the scanner. You can buy a new scanner with better specs than that thing for less than 50 bucks.

Then, can you recommend a scanner brand and model: it would be used for text only, to scan books and papers. Thanks again! ... RB

Thanks!!! ... I thought that, for a new scanner, I might have to pay 5 times as much!
