'My Computer' doesn't see new hard drive, but BIOS does...
Hi,
I installed a Wester Digital 300 Gig hard drive tonight but I'm having trouble getting it working. My BIOS recognizes it as the slave drive (to my WD 120 gig) and Device Manager recognizes it, but when I go to My Computer, nothing shows up besides C: Any ideas on how I can get My Computer to recognize it so I can use it? Thanks in advance! |

have you formatted it or create any partitions on it yet ?
what is the O/S your useing ? if your using xp, then go to control panel, admistrative tools, computer management, on the left select disk management, you should see the drive there where you can then format it. windows cannot see the drive untill it is formatted.and a partition created. |

Rt-click on my computer, then click manage. In that screen click disk management. In that window you will see all your drives listed. You can partition and format your harddrive there.
