Partitioning

I just finished installing the operating system. When the cd needed to partition my disk drive, i couldn't change the amount of gigs i want to partition. SO the OS CD partitioned my whole disk. is this a problem? can i partition again.

The only ways to partition again are wipe it and start over, or use Partition Magic. I don't see a problem with a drive being one large partition unless you consider it a problem.

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
Having separate partitions will allow you to back up partitions selectively, as well as making things like defragging go faster. But it's personal preference, there's no right or wrong way to set things up.

Amplifying on what doctorgonzo said, you can put your data on one partition and the OS on another and/or Audio-Vidio on another etc. The advantage being that it takes only a few seconds or minutes to back up your docs/data. So you'd be more apt to do it more often rather than spend much longer because the partition is so big.
You probably need the experiance anyway, Right?
