Mouse bouncing

Hi,

I am running Windows XP Home. Lately as I use my mouse it bounces to different parts of my monitor and I have to reposition it. This happens quite a bit and it is getting annoying. I have a Logitech optical mouse and I have also tried a Microsoft optical mouse and it does the same thing. It is connected to the PS/2 port. I have not tried it in a USB port as I only have two (older machine) and they are both being used. Thanks.

Sorry I have to ask this - have you tried a different surface? Run the mouse using a piece of paper as your mouse pad.

Thanks Kram. That seemed to correct the problem. I got a new desk a couple of weeks ago and didn't give it a thought.
