USB .... error had occured

Hi when I logged on this am I recd this msg saying found new hdware... then stating that an error had occurred during installation. So, from Device Manager.. (next to Yellow !)when I run upgrade device driver says it found C:\winnt\inf\usb.inf click on Next... 'Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard..... "An error Occurred during the installation of the device.
The installation failed because of a function driver was not specified for this device."

AMD64 athlon 3000+
1GB DDR ram
m/b: Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9
USB 2.0
Win 2K pro

in my device manager I have a yellow ! next to USB Device.

appreciate your help.

Do you have anything connected to the USB port during boot up?

Hi

Chkd ur issue, wat i suggest you is:

1 Unplug the USB and reinstall

2 I guess you should install drivers for the USB device

3 Check the USB slot is in proper condition

4 Inform me when you right click the icon -> Properties and there you find a option called reinstall drivers

5 Is this the first time that you are using a USB?

6 Plz mail your reply to my mail id

7 I shall be much oblieged to do you some favor

8 Try plugging the USB in a different port
