Temp goes to 60!

Hi!
My new PC P4 3Gega and Intel 865MB, Ram 512, temp goes to 60 and up, Is this normal or do I have to add some cooling stuff?

Exactly which P4 is that? A Northwood or a Prescott? Socket 478 Prescott P4s do tend to run fairly hot.

And is that temp at idle or under load? If under load, that's normal and nothing to worry about.

What is your cooling set up like? How many case fans do you have and how are they oriented in the case (where are they located and which direction are they blowing)?

Do you know if that is a Northwood socket 478 or a Prescott... the Prescotts do run hot and that would be a normal temp... that would be hot for a Northwood.

Not sure how to answer that but i am currently running a prescott 3.0G and I average about 60, but I hate the stock Heatsink and Fan, it is way too loud.

Yup... that's a prescott... and those would be considered normal temps.
