Can I hook a light up to a fan controller???
I have a HardCano 12 fan controller, and a cold cathode tube..... I was wondering if I could use the fan controller to turn the light on and off.(all the way up for on...and all the way down for off). They are both 12v systems but i am worried about screwing up the fan controller if i try this. Has anyone else done this? is it safe?

I have hooked up dual cold cathodes to my fan control panel, but I had 2 extra switches for 12V, Off, 5V. I never used the actual control itself, just the switches. They worked fine, but eventually my power inverter failed and I had to replace the bulbs and the inverter. Dont know exactly what the problem was with that, meaning if it was actually running them through my fan controller panel or not. I do not see why you could not try it to see what happens. Most cold cathodes run at 12V anyways, so you could try it.

It is recommened you get one built for the task. Sunbeam makes a nice one that can control lights with different animations etc, and control fans by just setting the switch to on. I believe its somewhere between 14-20$ USD on Xoxide.
