I've got a NEC Superscript 860 laser printer and I refilled a toner cartridge, but I'm getting light streaks in the same places on every page. The streaks go from top to bottom. Tilting and shaking the cartridge don't seem to help. Do the streaks represent dead spots on the drum? Other cartridges don't cause the problem.
Thanks E Steve K

any residue on the charging wire can cause that, do a good cleaning of the rollers and see if that don't help.

Sounds like it's time to retire that cartridge.

If the streaks show as a grey band under black type, you can lift the shutter/cover and remove the band of toner on the roller with cotton wool etc. while turning the roller, and get a few prints in an emergency.
glc is right though. Save it as your #2 cartridge for jobs like 88 page pdf manuals. |

Hi guys,
Am setting up a site about Toner Cartridge Is there a need for a 'forum' like this on there to discuss issues like these about streaking? Thanks. |

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea once you get it set up. Fixyourownprinter.com has forums.
