Any reason why you want one that is tooless? I've herad things like tooless slots (clamp your cards in) are a pain. It's much easier to put one screw in.

I think Thermaltake's cases are tooless and they have some full-towers. Not sure if the mobo trays are removeable though.

there is only one tool that is required at all, and that is a phillips screwdriver, and you can't mount any drive or motherboard with out one, so I am not aware of any toolless case at all.

Unless you used only plastic snap in mobo standoffs. but I find those such a pain when replacing/removing the motherboard.

The Thermaltake Shark case I recently purchased is mostly toolless, in that the expansion cards are held in by a clamp, and the motherboard tray is secured to the case with thumbscrews. If you like the look of it, I wrote a review in the hardware review forum.

Yes of course a screwdriver is needed for initial assembly, but I always thought the term 'toolless' applied to case maintenence; manufacturers use the term to describe their cases after all.

For instance, on the Thermaltake, All drive bays are on rails, the motherboard tray is on a slider/thumbscrew combination, and the cover of the case is removed using thumbscrews also.

its not a full tower but a mid-tower. its still great though. scott mueller suggests it, btw he is the auhtor of upgraidng and repairing pcs.
the case has a tooless expansion card design as well as installing cd/dvd drives
the mobo tray is removable and can be installed withscrews, simply push the mobo onto the standoffs that snap in place, installation is a breeze

Smile Tooless Case

First off i'd like to clarify something so we can stick to the point in hand.

A Tooless Case is;

A case that requires no tools to fit components in the expansion slots and/or the drive bays. IE....after the motherboard, cpu, psu an fans have been fitted.

With that said, this is what I recommend.

COOLERMASTER !

I have been using a Centurion 5 case at work for the last year or so and I cannot fault it. It doesn't have the removable m/board tray you're after though.

http://www.coolermaster-europe.com/i...5Centurion%205

You can check out a video review at

http://www.3dgameman.com/vr/coolerma...review_03.html

The best option for you would be to go for the Preatorian, 731 or 732. As far as looks go this has got to be one of the most stylish cases i've seen. And it's aluminium (no thats not a typo, i'm English! ).

The motherboard tray is removable and flippable (can be mounted on the opposite side of the case).

http://www.coolermaster-europe.com/i...aetorian%20732

The Centurion comes with a psu (always handy to have a spare!) but the Praetorian does not.

Hopes this helps

Sean

The "tooless" design is truely a pain, and I just basically screwed off the whole tooless design for my PCI cards. None of them would fit, and the clamp would not close. I have a audigy 2 zs sound card, and evga 7800GT graphics card that couldn't be closed with the clamp.

I'm basically trying to say, if there is really no need for a "tooless" case, just stick with a screw driver. If you really want a tooless design then try the Thermaltake Cases because they make good quality ones... just don't get the Xaser series because I ran into problems. o_O

I have the Centurion 5 case and am very happy with it. However, with respect to mounting drives in the drive bays, it is "sort of" toolless. There is a sliding plastic bar and lock that I used to secure my drives, but I wanted something more solid. I removed the opposit side panel: this provided access to the cages holding the drives. There are holes in the cages that align perfectly with the threaded holes in the drives. I installed two screws into each drive, and then replaced the side cover.

The drives are now solidly locked in place.

I recently did a build for a customer using an Enermax case (identical to the Coolermaster Centurion) and it was truly a screwless case, except for installing the MOBO.
I was particularly fond of the qualityod the case but the price was right.
