Hi Guys Newbie here...!!
I came here seeking for some help... my grampa has this computer that someone gave to him as a gift, I dont know the specs of it so it is kinda hard for me to describe it correctly, point is its not bootin up at all, seems that it goes through the starting sequence it gets to the windows professional logo and then it simply starts the sequence all over again...
What can that be??? any suggestions? I have taken the whole thing apart hoping a loosen cable or somethng would pop up but not luck... now my old man is really sad cuz he wanted a computer, so please ANY help would do. Thanks All in advance....

Was the computer working when it was given to your grandpa? Maybe the person you got the computer from can give you specifications, or system disks that came with the computer

Did you try to see if the computer will boot to Safe Mode?

Which Windows is that computer running?

When you press F8 to get the Safe Mode menu, is there another line that reads "Disable automatic restart on system failure" ? If so, you can use this to stop the automatic reboots and give us a STOP error number which will point to the problem at hand. If not (this extra line was added in SP2 and you probably don't have it on that pc), can you boot from a Windows XP setup cd and run the repair console ? If so, you could try running chkdsk to fix any file system errors which may be causing the errors.

Well one idea is to disconnect some hardware in case something is faulty. Unhook the opticals drives and see what happens. Like a process of elimnation. Also check the ram too. If more than one stick try removing first one then the other. What kind of video card is it?
