PC Shuts down constantly maybe BIOS problem? help!
Hi all hope your all gd!
I have a prob with my spare PC, i reformatted the hd and re-installed xp a few weeks ago and after a day or so the pc started shutting down and restarting itself every hour or so. When the pc re-booted the usual window came up saying 'your system has recovered from a serious error' so i followed the link after sending my error report and the info at the end of the link said 'consider BIOS upgrade'. Anyway does this sound like the problem? and if it does how do I upgrade the BIOS as the pc now doesnt boot up completely before shutting down again so i have no way of keeping the pc on to do anything. I was thinking of getting a new motherboard as it is quite an old board now - 3 years old. The pc was always updated and never had spyware etc so was quite healthy. Also is there anyway I can attach my internal hd from it to my 1st pc but externally? I know how to install it as a slave internally but i was wondering if you can attach it as an external in anyway? cheers guys

What was the error number ? Could you post the full error message here ? You should be able to find it in the System Log.
