hi again,
i am a bit bothered of what i have just found out, i have a WD2500KS Sata and installed OS in it, but when i tried running Western Digital Lifeguard Diag the drive looks fine and it shows SMART status: PASS. on the other hand when i tried running WD Data Lifeguard tools it shows that SMART Capable: NO. i checked on my Bios to see if there's an option to enable SMART on my Sata but didn't find any. does this mean that my Sata SMART isn't enabled? |

Look in the BIOS again. There should be an option to enable/disable SMART.

SMART isn't a "sata" option per se. It's a bios option for hard drives.

both of my PATA's SMART are enabled, and can be disabled in Bios. |
