AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 - will it go here?

This is my current system and I want to punch it up a bit. How much trouble would it be to put a AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 on current MOB?

No trouble at all. Make sure you flash to the most recent BIOS for your board that will support dual core processors, then simply pull the heatsink, switch out the CPU's, and replace the heatsink and you should be good to go.

For a single application, no difference until single applications are written for dual core CPU's. For running more than one application, it will make a difference. How "big"?....it depends on many things.

I would not spend over $1000 for a processor. You can get a darn fast dual core for half that price that will do you just fine - look at the other Toledo cores. A 4400+ is under $500 and a 4800+ is just over $600.
