"sync" usb drive?

hey guys, i just bought a 1 GB OCZ flash drive off newegg, i use this for school and was wondering...

is there a way to sync it so that it updates when i plug it in, and all the homework files on it are updated if a newer version has been made on the computer (or a whole new file is made in general?) and vice versa?...i know it sounds weird but sometimes when im working on a paper ill do a little in school, then work on it home, it'd be nice if i coudl do this with a few folders in my documents.

also i was looking for some utilities i had on my old flash drive that dont seem to work on the new one (sony utilities that came w/ the drive) like password lock and a zip folder that automatically zips stuff in a certain part of the drive...thanks

I've been trying out SyncBack.
It's freeware that you might want to check out : http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html#freeware

thanks, also ive noticed my front USB ports seem to be running 1.1, is there a way to tell? they just arent as fast as 2.0. ive got an extension cable from one of my rear usb ports that im using ATM for my drive, but the regular front ports are really slow. asus seems to have trouble getting these to work right, but i installed the stuff i needed to install when i first got the PC to get it up to 2.0 (had to search and download it), but it seems to have reverted back to its old ways.

Check them out in Device Manager and see what's going on.

Another vote for SyncBack. I've been using it for a while now to automatically sync my MP3 partition with my file server, and it works great.

Device Manager >Standard Enhanced Host Controller>Action>Properties>General>

Since you're having problems click the 'Troubleshoot' button.
I can't swear you'll get an answer but you can start narrowing down possibilities that way.
From here it sounds like you need a drver/chipset reinstall but I need more to go on, starting with your specs, then you're giving.
When did you notice the usb problem and what had you been doing prior to it?
