Confused On What Brand of SATA To Buy

I've been looking around, going to buy the HD for my system im building (only buying one HD, don't have the $$ for two) and I've been so confused by all the advice and opinions. Some people say go only WD, other says WD is total BS. Other says Seagate or Maxtor. Does anyone have some solid answers as to which drives are the most solid, well made and reliable?

WD had some reliability problems a while back with 80Gb and 120Gb jb hard drives. I've continued to use them despite those problems. Seagate is a proven winner and offers a better warranty than WD on some drives, 3 yrs vs 5 yrs. All 3 are good brands.

One thing to remember about hard drives is any brand and any hard drive could potentially give you problems. I've used most brands over the years and have had problems in one form or another with all the brands I've used with IBM/Hitachi being the worst as far as reliability goes. Currently I'm using Seagate hard drives because of the 5 year warranty. I was using Western Digital hard drives before that but had quite a few of them go bad within the warranty period so I decided to switch brands. I haven't had any problems with the Seagates yet but that doesn't mean I never will.
