Abit and Raid Question
Ok so i got a kn8 ultra board and 2 80gb 3gb/s hitachi drives...i just finished putting the rig together and the bios recognizes both of my sata drives...
the next step was to go back in the bios.....then go to onchip/ide raid function>Raid function>Enable Raid function and then enable serial ata 1 raid and serial ata 2 raid since thats where i have my 2 drives connected to(sata1 and sata 2 on the board)..is this Correct? then when i restart again it ask me to press f10 to load raid drives.( i have a disk that came with the mobo..its reads NVraid driver disk version 1.05) so i stick the disk in and load from it..but any suggestions on what to do next..i wanna set up raid 0 for speed Sorry im still a n00bie at raid setup and since its late and im going to bed now i wanna get some info on what to expect next because everything is going too smoothly so far i dont wanna mess up the raid setup thanks guys. PS: with the help of the pcmech i will have this things kicking ass in no time Case: antec 500 watts (kick ass case) Mobo: Abit kn8 ultra CPU: 64 3700+ Sandiego Ram: Corsair Twinx (2gb..1gbstick X 2) HDD: 2X hitachi 80gb 3g/s sata 2 Video: Evga nvidea 256 pci express 7600 gs Sound: Creative Xfi plat LG all in one burner |

the next step was to go back in the bios.....then go to onchip/ide raid function -> This is where you tell it which raid method you want to use....
Also, it is usually the F6 key to load the drivers..

You'll need to double check the settings in the bios...
You will have to re-install Windows. Be sure and have a good backup plan since raid 0 doubles your chance of losing ALL data. |

The option to setup the raid 0 is in the bios or the raid uitility you generally see once you enable raid.
I'm not familiar with the mobo you have. You'll have to look in the manual. |
