always show "safely remove hardware" icon

on my SATA HD which I have winXP on it, I can't remove, what happened is I replaced my broken ECS-755 MOBO with new ASUS-K8N MOBO, by uninstall ECS driver and install asus driver, I see this icon on lower-right corner telling me to remove my SATA HD, How to tell winxp that I don't want to remove this and leave it alone,

thanks

Use the Task Mgrs properties to "hide it."

It isn't really an issue. Since SATA drives are hot-swappable that icon will appear on a lot of systems, just ignore it. I would not try to disable the display of it because you need it there for other things like pen drives, cameras, etc.

And if the SATA HDD is your system drive (the one with the operating system on it) you won't be able to remove it anyway. Just ignore the icon...it's not hurting anything.

If your hard drive has the option to use a molex power connector instead of the sata power connector, you can use it and the drive will no longer will be recognized as swappable, just be sure to use one or the other power connectors and not both.
