external enclosure compatibility

recently I have been very interested in buying:
VANTEC NST-360SU-BK Aluminum External Enclosure - Retail
Model #: NST-360SU-BK
Item #: N82E16817145167 on newegg.com
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817145167

I wanted to know if this external enclosure is compatible with this
seagate hard drive (ST3200822AS) It is a 200gb hard drive, SATA
interface, here is the websites address
http://www.seagate.com/cda/products/...81,599,00.html

If possible, could someone please if it is compatible so I may
purchase the enclosure and put it together. Also, if it is compatible,
will the enclosure support connecting to a Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop?
Thank you for your time everyone!

That housing will work with the SATA Seagate HDD (internal connection is SATA, external connection is SATA or USB2.0). You might want to look at another brand though, I've tried Vantec external housings and find them to be cheaply made. I use Bytecc external housings because they have much better quality. Take a look at what Apricorn has available too...glc likes those.

If the notebook has a USB port it should work fine. It really needs to be a USB 2.0 port...

The only SATA enclosure Apricorn offers is not USB - it's SATA to SATA only. I can't recommend any particular brand for SATA to USB enclosures - Bytecc doesn't have any either that I can see.
