need cheap rocker/toggle switches, USB HUB, CC's
Im making a panel of switches on my desk--including a few to turn cold cathodes on the desk, external hdd, etc, a USB hub of some kind, and some cold cathodes to light up the bookshelf im building to go under the desk
wondering where i can get this stuff cheap? the switches are like 5 bucks a pop at SVC. i would like this to look as good as possible. i want the USB hub to be fairly fast but cheap, need probably 4-5 USB ports splitting out from one. im not super good with wood, i think i can handle getting the switches to look good but not sure about how to work the usb hub into it... basically for now i want to know where i can get the switches, usb hub, and cold cathodes cheap. plan on using SVC for the hub and CC's if i cant find anywhere else, but teh switches were just too expensive--anyone know somewhere good to get these? |

Not sure if these will do what you want:
http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/s...ew&gp=Y&ureq=Y The saftey cover on these makes them look quite business like.

i work in the feild (Eletronics anyways) and Radio shack is a killer, that's the last place ya want to look if your lookings for "cheap" price tag
try newark.com there cheap http://www.newark.com/ also http://www.digikey.com/ has alot more "PCB" items like resistors, caps, LED, D-Sub Conectors, Etc. I am pretty sure both take a credit card payment Hope this helps |

It's been years since I've looked, but back then JC Whitney was where I got a lot of my toggle (and the like) switches. They were located in different categories, like for motor homes and the like, but it might be worth checking them out.

Well, Radio Shack may not be "cheap" but it's a place where you can walk in and lookie touchie feelie before you buy - and attempt to ask technical questions about them - you might get lucky and get an employee who actually knows something about electronics.
