Abit AT7 Max2 CPU support question
Hi there, looking to make an upgrade on a Socket A Abit AT7 Max2 mobo, from an AMD XP 1500+ to a 3000+. Does anyone know how well these are supported, if at all? The motherboard specs don't list it as supported but thats because the 3000+ didn't exist when it was manufactured. The main issue may be is that the 3000+ needs a 400Mhz FSB, and the bios only supports up to 250.

You could try the abit forum and enter the motherboard model and 3000+ in the search box and see what you get, or go to the bios download page at abit and check the revision history to see if they have an update to support that processor.

Nope. You are restricted to 200 and 266 FSB processors. 333 and 400 FSB's will not work, and neither will Barton cores.
