Graphics card not recognised
I have a XFX Geforce 6600GT graphics card that has been working fine for several months until this morning. I checked Device manager and the graphics card is not listed there, the only thing there for nVidia is the nVidia audio codec interface and it has an exclamation point on it . I double clicked on it and clicked properties and for device status it says "Windows cannot start this hardware because its configuration info {in the registry} is incomplete or damaged. {Code 19} Also under System devices I get the exact same info as above for the nVidia nforce2 AGP Host to PCI Bridge, {Code 19}. My mother board is an ASUS A7N8X rev.2 with AMD 2500 Barton processor. I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling but kept getting the message {the nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. setup will now exit. Can someone Please help me correct this! Many Thanks in Advance

Does your board have onboard video?
If it does, make sure it's disabled in bios. Reseat the video card, boot the computer in safemode and in device manager, remove all video cards and devices with the exclamation points Uninstall the video drivers and reboot, the OS should detect new devices and install the drivers, for your video card reinstall drivers. |
