Can you give us some specifications of your machine, is it a store bought model or custom built?
What operating system are you using? Have you made any hardware or software changes recently? Have you had any electrical problems in your house recently?

Did you make all these changes at the same time?
If not can you retrace your steps and remove each new component one at a time, then try booting your machine after removing one component and replacing it wth the original. |

In the other thread you started on this problem you say that unfortunately you bent a few pins on the cpu, when you straightened the pins you say that none snapped off, can you make sure of this and is there any way you can borrow a cpu to test yours is definately not the problem?
I am fairly certain that your cpu is Ok otherwise you wouldn't get as far as the blinking white line on the screen, have you tried an "out of case build" to see that you haven't disslodged something down behind the mother board that is now shorting some where. o xiet, for reference, here are the general steps for an out-of-case build:
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409 The build will eliminate most variables, and allow us to learn more about the problem at hand. |
