imaged drive won't boot
i am working on a comp that was hit by lightning last night, but i was able to image the hard drive using DriveImageXML within BartPE. it was a 10gb hard drive. i then restored the image (using BartPE) to an empty (but NTFS formatted) 80gb hard drive. the information is on the drive as evidenced by BartPE, but the computer will not get to the windows xp bootscreen. if i shut it off and turn it back on, i get the "Windows was shut down improperly, please choose how you would like to boot" but no matter what choice i make it does not work. any ideas on what i can do to get it to boot? i assume its because the xp on the image does not recognize any of the hardware. thanks

i was hoping not to do that, because i didn't have the cd or key handy, but i ended up tracking down the key using BartPE and Magical Jelly Bean, so then i just did a repair install. thanks for the help
